Fiber Drop Services

The Conexon Construct team simplifies fiber drop installation with expert services designed to streamline processes from start to finish. Our comprehensive approach allows us to pass on cost savings to our clients.

Whether your project is not yet under way or already started and experiencing delays, Conexon can keep your service installations on schedule and get the job done where other vendors can’t – with competitive pricing that keeps you on budget as well. Our end-to-end solution encompasses:

Preparation and Materials

Our team ensures we know exactly what’s needed to complete the job and have the supplies ready to go before we arrive onsite – no delays waiting on materials. We take into consideration local climate and frost line when planning your installation.

Safety

All Conexon installers complete a power certification course so they are trained and aware of overhead lines and underground utilities for safety.

Site Survey

To ensure proper installation and avoid accidentally disconnecting service, Conexon’s thorough site survey includes identifying existing utility lines, marking proposed paths for drops, calling in locates, and making sure all 811 tickets are submitted. Crews take photos before starting the job to compare to after installation, promoting quality assurance.

Construction and Trenching

Conexon follows industry best practices for both aerial and underground drops. Whenever possible, our team uses direct bury methods, as it allows for easier maintenance and minimal disturbance to property. Boring with conduits placed underneath is used for hard surfaces such as driveways, sidewalks, and roads. Our end goal is always that property owners won’t even notice we’ve been there!

Testing and Verification

Our teams provide thorough quality control on 100% of drops, both aerial and underground. A secondary check after installation is always completed to make sure it meets all standards.

Before leaving the property, crews verify connections to make sure light levels are correct and service will work.

Drop Installation

The drops are run from the pole or the pedestal to the side of the residence or building, where it is connected to the Network Interface Device (NID) box.

Fiber Splicing Services and Training Program

Conexon’s innovative splicing business for fiber network construction is a turnkey service option for electric cooperatives that includes job- and project-ready professionals and a hands-on certification course to improve training.

The full-service splicing business and affiliated training program were developed to create new opportunities for fiber network construction professionals and ensure a ready supply of best-practice oriented professionals for the ever-increasing number of rural fiber broadband projects.

Conexon’s education program is an opportunity to train new hires to Conexon standards with a uniform, safety- and quality-oriented approach to methodology and technique.

This unique approach ensures quality assurance and cost management – Conexon splicers are expertly educated to work efficiently and to the highest standards in the industry to keep your project on schedule and on budget.

Splicers who train at the Conexon Construct splicing school will focus on Conexon’s core distributed tap architecture methodology, learning and practicing the skills needed for effective, safe and efficient tap splicing during the two-week certification course. Once training is complete, splicers are assigned to a Conexon job build and equipped with the tools needed to begin splicing paths on FTTH projects across rural America.
