Conexon Connect completes its largest fiber-to-the-home network to date, spanning 3,500 miles and reaching over 67,000 rural Georgians

Partnership with Central Georgia EMC helped launch Connect ISP business four years ago with inaugural Georgia broadband projects.

[KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 15, 2025] - Conexon Connect, the internet service provider (ISP) formed by rural fiber broadband leader Conexon, is celebrating its latest business milestone: the completion of its largest fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) project to date, in partnership with Jackson, Georgia-based Central Georgia EMC.

The 3,500-mile all-fiber network, Connect’s 11th completed project, now delivers multi-gigabit-speed broadband service to 100 percent of the EMC’s member base across 14 counties. Completed in May, the Connect, powered by Central Georgia EMC, network enables access to essential online services, including telemedicine, remote education and modern work opportunities, for the tens of thousands of rural Georgia homes and businesses previously lacking reliable connectivity.

“This milestone isn’t just about fiber—it’s about people. Every Central Georgia EMC home, farm and small business now served with high-speed internet is connected to a world of new opportunities,” Conexon Founding Partner Randy Klindt said. “The digital access made possible through this project means brighter futures, stronger connections and a renewed sense of what’s possible when we work together for the communities we serve.”

The state-of-the-art network infrastructure provides Central Georgia EMC members access to world-class symmetrical internet capabilities, offering the same fast download and upload speeds, as well as reliable phone service. Fiber broadband technology also enables the benefits of smart grid capabilities to the co-op’s electrical infrastructure.

“Central Georgia EMC committed in 2021 to provide high-speed internet access throughout our service area. Conexon Connect agreed to be our broadband partner and stepped up when many other internet service providers would not serve rural Georgia,” said George Weaver, President/CEO of Central Georgia EMC. “This initiative has strengthened our electric grid and ensured our members enjoy world-class fiber internet services. With careful planning by our board of directors, strong partnerships and the support of our members, Central Georgia EMC has laid the groundwork for a more connected and empowered future. As a member-owned cooperative, we take pride in going beyond electricity to help unlock new possibilities for our community.”

Conexon and Conexon Connect work with electric cooperatives and community entities committed to serving residents with fiber broadband. With its clients, the company has secured more than $2 billion in federal, state, and local funding and designed more than 200,000 miles of fiber nationwide – resulting in more than 1.1 million rural Americans connected to world-class fiber broadband.
